"Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see." – John F. Kennedy
Our students are the future! Many of my students will come to my classroom unsure, unprepared, and possibly unwilling. I will show my students what it means to love gaining knowledge, believe in themselves, and make a difference despite their age or living situation. The less worries they have, the more they can focus on successfully learning. I want to make sure they have everything they need. Block A will have around 17 students and Block B will have around 22. For optimum learning, I want to make sure that their schoolwork is organized and also that they have their own space for their things, especially because I will have to organize for around 40 students. These materials will help my students to be worry free when it comes to having supplies in the classroom. Pencils, erasers, white boards, colored pencils, pencil pouches, etc. will ensure that all the students will have the supplies they need whether they can financially afford it or not! (We all know students go through supplies very quickly!) Manipulatives will help the students to be able to learn through touch and interaction. Flash cards, pocket charts, magnifying glasses, rulers, and clipboards will allow students to move around and participate in centers. I want to reach the children in their different learning styles (visual, kinesthetic, auditory, etc) Organization items will help the students to smoothly transition and feel like they belong when they have their own space and routines! Because they will have to switch between two classrooms, I feel it is important to make sure the classroom is organized and they have their own spaces. Storage and organizers will help make the class feel like their own!
