I'm going to use these books as read alouds. These books teach comprehension, skills, strategies, standards, and grade level complexity! These are books with meaning. They won't be considered the most popular, but they will be considered true game changers. I wanted to find books that students might walk by in a book store without giving a second thought, but should absolutely be read and discussed. Students will be able to predict, infer, visualize. Students will also learn about morals, lessons, and messages the author is portraying. They'll learn how to summarize and synthesize. And they'll dive into the characters. Their traits, their conflicts, and their motivations.
