  • We Love Books!

    Funded Nov 2, 2021

I cannot begin to tell you how grateful my students and I are for your generous donation. I wish you could have seen their excitement and joy as we opened the box to discover the continuation of their first book series. Each of them grabbed a book, some hugged it, and all immediately opened it to find out what adventures await them.

Our literacy curriculum never provides any full stories. They're always excerpts, or, at most, one chapter from some book. When I introduced Harry Potter to them, each student had a book in their hands. This was the first time they've really read a book from beginning to end. It allowed them to grow with the characters, to see how they change throughout the story, to invest in the storyline, to compare/contrast, visualize and imagine the world of Harry Potter. They're also discovering that reading is fun.

Thank you for gifting us this wonderful opportunity to learn, to enjoy, and to love reading.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mak

  • Active Kids = Healthy Kids

    Funded Dec 25, 2013

Thank you so much for the Frisbees. The students loved using them! They were so surprised to learn that some awesome people donated these professional grade frisbees just so they can be active and healthy. These are extremely durable compared to the thin, cheap Frisbee that broke after a couple uses.

We're using it every Monday and Wednesday for an hour during PE time with the 4th grade students. The kids are learning the different methods of ultimate frisbee and LOVE the game. They even want to play ultimate during their recess time!

Watching the kids love learning and applying their new skills is exactly why I got into teaching. I can see their excitement as they made a good throw or catch. I can see how successful they feel, and their confidence grow. This is how teaching and learning should be.

I'm so grateful that you've made this experience possible for us. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to express a huge THANK YOU for making a difference!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mak

Thank you so much for your sponsorship! The kids this year are very enthusiastic about reading and would love this book. I'm so excited to have them enjoy reading something that's fun.

In a few weeks I will send pictures of projects the students will do in connection with this book. Thank you so much for your generosity! We're very grateful to you :)

    Sincerely,
