Do It! Learn It! Hands on Science and Math!
Funded Oct 30, 2023Thank you so much for your kindness and genorisity. Thank you for helping me inspire my students to want to come to school everyday, to learn and develop their imaginations, creativity and love of learning. Through the use of the Scinece eperiment kits, the students learned to work together, problem solve, expriment, develop their own ideas and take control of their learning. The excitement in my classroom every time we used these kits was amazing. The look on thier faces, the "I want to try" coming from each student is what inspires me to come to work everyday and cultivates a fun and independent learning environment in my room. And because of generous donors like you, I was able to encourage my students to create thier own learning and inspire them to want to try new things, challenged them to think and problem solve. Watching them work in small groups, listening to them develop ideas, try them and then come up with new ones, watching them work together to "figure things out" was an incredible experience for me and for them. This year my students had extra manipulatives, experiment kits and hands on activities because of the kindness of people like you. Thank you form the bottom of my heart.”

Funded Feb 24, 2023The look on the students face when I showed them all the new Math learning tools was unforgettable! They were so excited and all they wanted to do was start Math class. Since then, I can see the excitement in them every day.
They WANT to do Math! They want to count on the number line floor mats! They want to add and subtract using the domino sets! Counting to 120, which by their moans and groans every time I asked them to count, I could tell was a tedious task for them is now a fun one. They all raise thier hands with anticipation, wanting to be picked to use the one hundred pop chart to help them. The ask for more! As a teacher, I couldn't ask for anything better! Those that were struggling with the skills and hesitant to raise their hands in class are now some of the first ones to raise their hands and try to figure out the problems. I see them more secure and advancing through the curriculum! Words are not enough to express the gratitude I have for your generous support!
You have definitely made an enormous impact in the learning of all of my students and for that I am so grateful! Thank you again for helping me make a difference and for helping me make my Math class more hands on and exciting with all of these essential Math manipulatives!”

Gift of Learning Fun for the Holidays!
Funded Dec 12, 2022I would like to take the time to say "Thank you" from the bottom of my heart. Many of my students come from hard working, single parent homes and the holidays can be a difficult time for them. Thanks to donors like you, my students had the best holiday celebration in my classroom this year. As they walked in to our class after breakfast, all the board games were wrapped and waiting around our "Hoiday Traditions from Around the World" decorated area! The first ones in began to yell in excitement and they passed the news down the line to those still outside, within seconds they had all made thier way into the room and surrounded the gifts! The look of surprise and happinees and their faces just melted my heart! We took turns picking names and opening the gifts with partners. With wrapping paper scattered all over the floor, they began to have some fun and learn in the process! They all wanted to learn how to play the games and picked buddies to play them with. We spent the rest of the morning, playing games and enjoying the time with thier friends. I saw them excited to talk with each other, to take turns, to read the insturctions as best they could, to help each other and guide each other through the game. I was so proud of them! They were learning and having fun and enjoying the day together. Beautiful start to the holidays!”

Funded Dec 31, 2021My students used the vowel tubs to practice their sounds in small groups. Having real objects for each vowel sound was especial helpful with our English Language Learners. They loved repeating the sounds while holding the small objects. The whisper phones were a hit! They kept asking for more books to read so they could hear themselves! They used the guided reading strips to guide them. It was so much fun for them.
During recess, we used the bubble wands for a little relaxing fun and then they used the sidewalk chalk to draw a line and skip count. It is so rewarding to see them enjoying themselves as they learn. These hands on tools and supplies have made such a huge impact in my students learning and enjoyment of Reading and Math. I can not thank you enough for making such a big difference in our classroom. Your kindness and generosity means so much to me.”

Daily Math Challenge
Funded Sep 9, 2021Thank you so much for your generous support of my classroom and students. These journals have made a big impact in my room during Math class. The excitement the kids show to use the journals is incredible. Like with anything new the kids were very happy to see their new journals on their desks when they came in to the room! I could hear them saying things like "oh wow!", "this is so cool", and "I have my own journal!" Then they wanted to immediately start using them. We ended up doing a whole weeks worth of problems the first day! They didn't want to stop!
Now, they are eager to complete their daily Math journal exercise daily. I don't even have to ask them to take it out or begin. As soon as I say we are starting Math, they eagerly get their journals out and begin. This seems to be the most exciting part of Math for them!! I love seeing that look in their eyes! Even the students that initially didn't like Math journal time are now enjoying it with their personal journals. Had I known the difference and excitement it would bring to my class, I would have purchased these before!

Funded Aug 26, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation to my students and our classroom! I used the zippered cases to make a special surprise bag for each student full of all the things they would need to begin the school year! Their bags had all of the donated supplies, scissors, Purell GermX, Kleenex, crayons, pencils, erasers, etc. The excitement in the room could be seen and felt.
They were all looking through their bags, taking the items out, "I got a blue scissor", "mine is orange"! "I got new crayons"! It was so much fun, to listen to them and see how very happy they were to return to school and find their surprises on their desks!
Thanks to your kind donation, we were ready to begin learning on day one! We used our supplies to draw and color pictures to go along with the vocabulary and stories we were reading, to complete word problems in our Math journals, to do an All About Me project to help get to know each other. We will continue to use and enjoy the supplies all year long!”

Every time, I pass out a new Scholastic Magazine in my class, the students get excited! I have the attention of all of my students! They can't wait to read the articles and look at the interesting pictures! The articles are mostly about Science and Socials Studies so it is a great learning supplement for these classes as well!
While they are using these magazines, I see students actively engaged, reading all the sections of the magazine. I see them discussing with one another their favorite parts and sharing their thoughts. The activities, videos, vocabulary slides and worksheets that come with the magazines are amazing. The kids are eager to complete them and learn from them. I am so thankful to be able to use these magazines with the students in my class! Thank you for supporting my classroom and helping my students develop a joy of reading! Thank you!!!”

Individual Safe Recess and PE Bags!
Funded Oct 30, 2020Thank you for your generous support. The look on the student's faces when I handed them their bag was so cool to be able to see. This was a difficult and challenging, having to follow many social distancing and safety guidelines. Having their own equipment like bean bags, ring toss, comet balls, bubble wands and play-doh for rainy days was invaluable! The students were able to take much needed breaks outside in the fresh air! They needed that time to relax, play and just get a mental break from the challenges of this school year. Play is such an important part of their day and without individual equipment that would not have been possible this year. Due to COVID and social distancing mandates for our kids, it was more important than ever to be able to take my students outside for fresh air, movement, exercise and play. I can not thank you enough for your support!”

Funded Aug 13, 2020The best part of teaching is when you see your students motivated and excited about the activity you are doing in the classroom! Being able to supplement my lessons with teacher created resources was a fantastic opportunity. I am so incredibly grateful to have been able to use the TeachersPayTeachers gift card throughout the year. I used the gift card to download project ideas/worksheets in Science, Social Studies, Math and Reading!
The students enjoyed working on them and they were an amazing supplement to the learning process. My donors choose project also included chair fidget bands to help students reduce anxiety and fidgeting in their seats. These bands worked great with many of my students especially this very difficult year. COVID made this year challenging but the materials donated helped make things better and helped the students focus, learn and enjoy the year.”
