I am fortunate to work in a school with such a diverse population, most of my student's parents are immigrants to this country. They have instilled a great work ethic and have very high expectations for their children. My students are the hardest working, kind and empathetic group of young people I have had the pleasure of teaching. I am fully confident they will become productive and contributing members of society. In the above photo, Ilhan Omar made a visit to our classroom, she is the first Somali state representative. These students were enriched by hearing her story of being an immigrant to the US, and how through hard work and perseverance one can accomplish anything.
