I am so grateful for your gift to my classroom. Because of your gift, I was able to start the school year off with all the needed supplies for my class. I was able to give pencils and folders to every student that was not able to provide their own school supplies. And I even had extra folders to organize papers, missed assignments and grading for each period. I have pencils to give to students so that they can immediately get to work and not lose any class time. I also have post-its to use for group discussions and "stop and jots" that allow students to process what they are learning during class. I have staplers and scissors to help with the daily tasks of organizing papers (and saving papers by printing on half sheets.)
Basically, I have what I need to make learning accessible to all of my students and it is all because of you!
Thanks doesn't cover all that I want to say! All of my students appreciate your generosity.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Gilbert

Thank you so much for contributing engaging reading materials for my class. I am teaching at a High School in the Bronx that is for newcomers to the United States. My students were so excited to receive their own magazine every month for them to read and write about. The articles are engaging, written at their level and have lots of color pictures to keep their attention (unlike the photocopies they get in most of their classes.) These magazines allow me to teach skills like summarizing information, citing evidence in reports and I even did a lesson on human rights from one of the articles. They have been such an asset to our class.”

I teach ENL at a High School in the Bronx that is for newcomers. That means that 97% of our students have been in the US 1-3 years and are working hard to graduate in 4 years.
