Flexible Work Space: Yoga And Mindfulness Create Super Powers.
Funded Nov 23, 2020Thank you for your generous donation of yoga mats to our classroom We have recently returned to in-person learning and the yoga mats were a wonderful addition to our restructured classroom. Due to the social distancing recommendations each student must be a minimum of 3 feet apart. We used the yoga mats as work spaces that allowed for even more social distancing space to be given. Students have a flexible work area that was comfortable and allowed for lots of wiggle room on their mats. We were also able to incorporate yoga poses and calm body practice to our daily routine. Thank you for giving of my students with this thoughtful gift.”

Funded Apr 23, 2021Thank you for funding this project for our classroom. These movement stools will make a great impact on the ability for students to focus. I will use them at my small group table where we practice individual skills needed by each student. I know your generosity is appreciated not only our classroom community but by the surrounding local community.”

Funded Mar 16, 2021I can not express how grateful I am for your generous donation to our community. We are headed back to the classroom in a few weeks after a year of remote learning. These headphones will be a huge addition to the learning environment as we navigate simultaneously teaching and learning remote and in person.”

Funded Jul 30, 2020Thank you again for your generous donation. Unfortunately the Covid-19 rate in our surrounding school community is bouncing between the top 3 in our state. This has prompted our school community leaders to make the decision to begin the year with remote learning for all students. There have been a few instances that opened discussions for kindergarten students to return to the classroom, but with the rate only increasing steadily these attempts for return to school have been put on hold for now. We are scheduled to continue remote learning until further notice.
When we are able to safely return to the classroom these colorful circle spot markers will be pivotal assets for students. There is no way to tell what next school year will be like, there is still a possibility there may still be space restrictions for students in the classroom. These colorful circle spots will help students create the proper safe distance from one another. I am hoping that this is not the case and I can use these colorful circle spots in our everyday classroom environment to mark fun and colorful workspaces for the children. This will help make next year one to remember for so many wonderful reasons.
I am looking forward to returning to the classroom, returning to in person teaching and tackling any new challenges facing our students head on. Thank you again for your kind donation. Our students will need extra support now more than ever.”

When we are able to safely return to the classroom these interactive notebooks will be pivotal assets for students. The interactive notebooks will allow students to continue their work at home and be able to finish or review the days lessons. The interactive notebooks will also allow students to share their hard work and classroom success with their family. This year we are doing all we can to teach students remotely but it is certainly not the same as in person, in classroom and in school learning. Students and teachers will have to hit the ground running as soon as we return whether it be this year or next year.
I am looking forward to returning to the classroom, returning to in person teaching and tackling any new challenges facing our students head on. Thank you again for your kind donation. Our students will need extra support now more than ever.”

Book Bags for the Classroom
Funded Sep 18, 2017The gift of the book bags has been an essential part of our classroom and allows our students to have their hands on books at many different points during the day. Each student has their own book bag labeled with their name. These books are stored on a accessible shelf in colored bins, these bins signify their reading level group. This allows each bag to be filled with differentiated books meeting each reader at their level.
The book bags are also utilized for more than just independent reading. The class also uses them for learning sight words, or words that can not be sounded out and must be know by sight. Each student is assessed weekly on their sight word acquisition and given a color coded card based on the list of sight words they are learning. These cards are then stored in their book bags where they can be accessed and practiced when needed. The book bags are also really handy when our class practices buddy reading. Each student can grab their book bag filled with their leveled books and sit with a partner and practice reading to one another. Thank you for donating the book bags to our classroom to help with reading acquisition year after year.”
