Due to the sensory needs of my students, the materials will allow them to create shapes and letters while being able to squeeze and manipulate the materials to their liking to fulfill their needs. When my students are working with the Theraputty, they can use cookie cutters to create letters and build words. The water beads will help them become calm when they become upset from doing a difficult task. Geostixs will allow my students to learn their shapes as well as teach them how to create the shapes and in turn, help their fine motor skills improve. Sensory is a big deal for students with Autism. Their sensory needs need to be met in order for them to be successful in their goals.
