  • Comfy Classroom

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students were so excited to see the classroom setup like a home. This helped with the transition back to school. The table has been used every day since the start of the school year. The kids love to collaborate on assignments while feeling like they are at home. This has also provided them a space to take a time out when they need it. This year has been very challenging and your donation has helped make it a bit easier. I can't wait for them to continue working together at their new table.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Brown

  • Make My Classroom a Home

    Funded Aug 10, 2019

My classroom had completely transformed into a living space that my students adore. It is so amazing to see how productive they are. None of my students sit in desks any linger and it is magical. My students reactions when they first walked in my classroom were priceless. Everyday they are happy to come to class and can't wait to see what the next big addition in the classroom will be. Students take care of the class and clean at the end of each day. This is teaching them to be respectful and responsible in their space.”

  • Help Us Grow

    Funded Apr 11, 2019

My students had the opportunity to research about and then create their own garden. They grew carrots, lettuce, flowers, broccoli and eggplant. They took over all the responsibility of watering and caring for the garden. We are looking forward to using leftover materials to start our next garden. My students loved this project and real took ownership of their learning. Some of them already started researching which vegetables we should attempt next. It is wonderful to see how invested my students were with the garden.”

  • Help Us Focus

    Funded Jan 12, 2019

The noise canceling headphones have changed the energy in my classroom. Kids are able to focus easily and complete their tasks on time. In addition, it has become a behavioral tool as well. If students are upset they have the opportunity to play calming music and sit in the Zen zone until they are ready to rejoin the class as a whole. I cannot thank you enough for helping to create such a positive environment in my room. I am excited to learn different ways to use the headphones in the future.”

  • We Love to Read

    Funded Sep 1, 2017

These books have completely changed my student's year! They have been engaged in books everyday during their independent reading period. They have truly developed a love for reading and look forward to it everyday. The news books have taught my students that books can whisk them away from their everyday lives and take them to a place of wonder. The high interest nature of these books have encouraged even the most resistant readers to foster a desire to pick up a book and not abandon it. Thank you so much for changing my classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Brown

  • Teaching with Tablets

    Funded Aug 31, 2017

My students have been taking full advantage of their new tablets! they have completed two research projects as well as downloaded over 200 books to read during independent reading time. These tablets have assisted in comprehension of 6th grade social studies material that is very difficult to understand. The differentiation opportunities with the tablets are endless. The tablets have enhanced student engagement and increased a love of reading in my classroom. Students have even been coming up for lunch instead of going outside for recess to read on the tablets.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Brown

We have implemented a Humanities curriculum into our school this year. In order to build social studies background knowledge, we need access to technology to take my students on digital field trips and explore specific topics. Our school has limited technology and we want to expose our students to as much of the digital world as possible. This allows all of my students to understand and be engaged in the curriculum. Differentiation is a big part of my everyday planning and these Fire tablets will allow all of my students, even the English Language Learners to explore and build engagement around a topic.
