Having a designated area that is attractive, relaxing and well equipped with an assortment of books and writing materials will encourage the enjoyment of learning. Sit spots on the carpet will allow my students to have their own special place in the classroom to listen to stories and write. Having Sit Spots and Writing Journals to call their own can allow my students to be involved in literacy which directly impacts their learning. Children who read very little usually have poor reading skills, struggle with reading and avoid it. I want to provide my ESL students will all the opportunities available to them to succeed by praising their milestones and I know Sit Spots and writing journals will allow them the opportunity to love literacy and see the wonders it can unlock for them.
