  • Can You Hear Me Now?

    Funded Jan 18, 2021

Thank you so much for helping to fund the headphones for our class. The ones we had previously were old and falling apart, with some sides not working. The new headphones are comfortable and sturdy and allowed students to work in class without disturbing others. They also allowed for students at home to Zoom in with an in-class partner without interfering with the audio.

The students were very excited when they were delivered and were even more excited to see that each of them would have their own set of headphones. It was important for the students to have their own headphones as we were unable to share materials during the more unstable times of COVID precautions.

It is with your support we were able to have such a successful year!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fuller

  • Rocking Remote Learning

    Funded Sep 1, 2020

The school year is in full swing and we are working hard everyday to tackle the challenges of hybrid remote learning. Students were SO excited to receive their materials. It made them feel special and proud of their work spaces. We had a great time in class while each student personalized their display boards with their names and stickers and other items.

One of the biggest challenges for at home students is feeling that they are in school and have a way to feel focused and centered in their space. The private office display boards have been pivotal to the students at home in creating the work spaces with all the materials they need.

When I am at school instructing the at home learnings to get out X, I see them quickly accessing their materials. They show me they have their whiteboard sleeves and are ready for math. This have been essential during our multiplication unit as I have many support materials they use with the sleeves.

The book stands have also been a HUGE help to students. It is difficult to manage materials and a screen at the same time. Students prop up their journals to facilitate writing their work on Google Classroom. However, another student has used it to help prop up their iPad to make using it easier. I love when the students find ways to use it that I had never anticipated.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fuller

Very often during distance learning, valuable time is wasted by students who run off to find the supplies they need for a lesson. Students will use the trifold boards to create a private home office learning center where all their supplies are at arms reach. The pencil pouch will hold their writing supplies and tools including scissors, pen, highlighter, mechanical pencil, an eraser, dry eraser marker and eraser, ruler and protractor, glue stick, and stickie notes. The binder clips will allow students to clip up important reminders and to-do lists. The wall hooks will hold the dry erase sleeve and provide a place for students to hang headphones. The dry erase sleeve will allow them to quickly work on problems in math and use templates for problem-solving. For example, when we are teaching the place value section model of multi-digit multiplication and division students use templates with place value boxes. With the dry erase sleeve, students will use a paper template in the dry erase sleeve and automatically be set up to successfully solve the problem. The wire display stands will allow students to prop up workbooks and journals or their tablet to better manage their workspace. Remote learning presents many challenges for families and students, and my goal is to set my students and their families up for success from day one. This project will give my students the right supplies and a distraction-free workspace which is imperative to their success. The harsh reality is that not every family has the ability to create an appropriate learning space for their child in their home and this project will allow them to do just that.
