To Our Gracious Sponsors: I am Ms. D the sponsor of the Drill team. We a have policy of no dancer left behind. If a dancer has the passion to dance that dancer should not be denied the opportunity to dance due to not being able to financially purchase a uniform. Our Middle school is a school where 100% of the students are on free or reduced lunch and come from low-income backgrounds so they cannot afford drill team uniforms. However, being a part of the Drill team the students have a new sense of pride and confidence in themselves. This program teaches them teamwork responsibility, time management, organizational skills, and leadership skills. We are the most requested organization on campus to perform for school activities. These Activities are Award assemblies, Pep Rallies Basketball Games, Football Games, Welcoming Visitors and incoming 6th graders, etc. This academic school year the dancers will be competing at the Annual Six-flags Dance Competition and they need uniforms. The Program increases the schools morale. The Program increases friendships and a sense of responsibility to the dancers that are a part of the program. Not only do they have to perform on stage they must perform in the classroom to stay on the team. This program needs uniforms that will belong to the school so the student won’t have to purchase their own. For the dancer who desires to dance will be turned away. If we have uniforms that stay at Middle School this will ensure that the program will survive and thrive for years to come. We currently have 27 young ladies and we have no standard uniform which is $75 each. Anything will help.
