  • Fall eSports Snacks

    Funded Oct 4, 2024

Your donations towards our snacks for our fall eSports competition made a huge difference for our team! The students loved all of the snacks!

We had new members join our team and through a generous donation, we were able to get another Nintendo Switch. This donation has helped us create a JV team who now practicing alongside the Varsity team.

By being able to offer access to food, students were able to stay multiple days after school for practices and competitions. We are so excited for our 2025 Spring season and hope to make it to playoffs!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Esparza

  • Building an Inclusive eSports Program

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

We are excited to play in the 2023 CIF CA Fall Open for SSBU! We can't wait to continue growing our team and skills throughout the year. Our official season starts in January 2024 and continues until April 2024!

Your donation has made a huge impact on the team! Our eSports team now has access to pro controllers that have changed the way that we get to practice and compete. We are so excited to continue to use them this year.

We now have access to a second screen and have opened up the eSport space for more students to practice and decompress after school during our competitions. We have enough pro controllers to have multiple students participate in this.

Again, thank you so much for your contribution! These controllers have greatly impacted our team and we hope to win our CIF season!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Esparza

  • Headphones for Learning

    Funded Oct 11, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation! Our headphones have been extremely useful this year and we love being able to have access to them! The flexibility that the set has given us has been critical to our learning. We no longer have to require students to bring their own headphones! Students are using them to listen to podcast assignments, different videos, rotating stations with different media, and more! The bins have helped us keep our materials nice and tidy! We cannot wait to continue to use these in the future and we appreciate it so much.”

  • "Once I Was You" Book for Ethnic Studies!

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My Ethnic Studies course focuses on immigration throughout the year and Maria Hinojosa's book has been an excellent resource! We have read through different parts of the book to discuss her immigration story and her experience as an immigrant from Mexico.

Students have been able to relate to her immigrant experience. Most of my students are first-generation students in this country and have immigrated to this country at a young age. To be able to read about an adult retelling their immigration story has empowered students to want to share their own experiences.

Lastly, our school's mission is to set students up for college and to have successful careers. Maria Hinojosa shares her experience during college and how she built her news media company. This book has provided my students with a real-life story of an immigrant's experience in college and in their career and all of the obstacles and joys she experienced. We have also listened to podcast episodes created by her news media company and students are able to see the impact it has on our society and the mission it has to amplify diverse voices in the news.

Again, thank you so much for your donation. We will continue to use the book in our class and I can't wait for future generations to have access to it.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Esparza

  • Ethnic Studies Reading Materials

    Funded Aug 21, 2019

Thank you so much for your donations! We now have extra books for our students to use during class. We used to have to print out copies of the chapters because we did not have enough books. I also did not have my own teacher copy to use and write on. I now have my own copies of the books. I was also able to share copies of the book with my colleague. We are super excited about the launch of this class! This literature will be continued to be used by future generations of Preuss students. We will continue to build this curriculum and we cannot thank you enough for this donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Esparza

This year, my colleague and I, are launching Ethnic Studies at our school. With a new curriculum, we are in need of extra books to complete our class sets. We hope to fully integrate all of these books into our curriculum and provide various perspectives to our students. Our students come from low-income families and cannot always afford their own books. By purchasing one of these books, you are helping to ensure that we will have enough copies for all students to use in class These books will serve generations of students to come and we thank you for all of the support!
