  • Algebra Hands on Is the Way!

    Funded Aug 5, 2024

I hope this message finds you well! I am writing to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donations towards my project. Your support has enabled me to obtain a $100 TpT gift card, which will significantly enhance my students' learning experiences.

With this gift card, I plan to purchase a variety of hands-on activities that will encourage collaboration among my students. Engaging in these activities will not only make learning algebra more enjoyable but also foster teamwork and problem-solving skills. I firmly believe that these interactive resources will empower my students to master the necessary skills and ultimately succeed in passing the Algebra Regents.

Your kindness and commitment to education are truly inspiring. It's heartening to know that we have such supportive individuals in our community. Thank you for believing in my vision and for investing in our future leaders.

I look forward to sharing the positive impact of your generosity with you. Together, we are making a difference!

    Warmest regards,”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rajkumar-Singh

  • Math Is Fun

    Funded Sep 3, 2020

I am teaching 'Blended' that is I teach students that come into the building on a Cohort A and Cohort B schedule. This is very different from the way we are used to teach, always wearing a mask and always keeping social distances, no physical contact... very different

I bought some pre made lessons from TpT, my students enjoyed doing them I was able to help them using these lessons. My students were able to work on the concept we are working on in school and at home because these lessons are all digital.

I was worried how I will be able to see their work since there is no physical contact, but thanks to you, my dear donors this was never an issue. You made it possible! Thank you!

I will share some pictures of my students and their work using these digital lessons.

I will continue to share pictures so you can see how your help has impacted my students in classroom as well as at home.

    Once again Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rajkumar-Singh

  • Seeing is Believing

    Funded Sep 9, 2013

Thank you for donating to my project! You should see my students face when they see their work being projected! My lessons are now more interactive, students are more involved they are able to help each other and pointing out mistakes and correct them immediately ... Before it will take at least two days for me to give feedback to my students, using this document camera allows feedback immediately. My students now have a sense of pride when presenting their work and always want to show off their work to the others. I am also able to take images of different pieces of material, save it in a file and use it on the interactive board. I am very grateful to all of for making my lessons more student center rather than teacher center.

The stamps are awesome also, my students are doing their work to see that little stamp on their page. That little stamp make a big difference in my classroom! This incentive is working nicely in my room!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rajkumar-Singh

  • Asking for "Whites' so my Students Can Write!!!!!

    Funded Jan 1, 2011

On behalf of my students, I would like to thank all these donors for assisting in funding my project.

These white boards are an asset to my classroom, students love to use them to explain to each other what they are doing. I also use these boards when I am conferencing with individual students, since different students have different needs. My students look forward each day to work with these boards, they love the idea that they can use colors and erase their mistakes easily. These white boards also allows for peer editing and builds students confidence.

Since these boards were introduced in my classroom, I have seen improvement in my students work, written and oral. Students are presenting their work in a more organized manner, and are confident in explaining to the class the procedure they use to arrive at an answer. Using these boards students are able to use different methods to solve a problem, an excellent way to check their work.

Once again thank you for helping my students in this manner.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rajkumar-Singh

  • HP Mini for Math Lessons Desperately Needed!!

    Funded Mar 8, 2010

This is just a small token of appreciation and gratitude for your kind and generous donation of a Mini Netbook to my classroom. This Netbook is very helpful to me and my students. With this Netbook valuable time which was spent in setting up for the classes is now being used for content instructions. I now use power point presentations to present my lesson to my students. These presentations really help my students because they are mostly visual learners. I am able to access virtual manipulative on the Internet to allow my students to explore the content that I am explaining to them in the classroom immediately. This gives me immediate feedback which I need to in order to continue the lesson.

My students are able to use this Net Book during extended day to complete research and projects for their other classes. This Net Book is not used only by my students and me for my subject, but also other subjects.

Like every other school, my school is also affected by economy of this country, so without your help my students would not have been able to experience learning through technology. I think learning through technology is really important for a student's academic success which you have made possible to my students.

Without donors like you our classrooms would go on without such materials which are very important for our students' success.

    Once again THANK YOU!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rajkumar-Singh
