These books will be used for a close read curriculum that I will use this year in my classroom. It is a weekly curriculum that focuses on one read aloud each week, the book will be read daily in a group setting and then will involve the children in learning vocabulary, higher level thinking and questioning, collaborative activities and writing.
I believe that building the love of reading early will help foster successes for the rest of my students days in school and beyond. I will also use these books as theme basis for other projects and activities throughout the classroom each week.
