I teach a large number of students across grades 3 through 8. 3rd graders learn general music through playing xylophones and recorders; I come into their classrooms once a week for 30 minutes to teach them. My 4th and 5th grade students choose band and orchestra instruments to play, and receive instruction once a week for 45 minutes. I teach 7th and 8th grade students daily for 50 minutes a day, both band and orchestra. 6th grade students who wish to do music are pulled from their P.E. classes twice a week to join the 7th and 8th graders in their respective classes.
