These materials will make a difference in my students lives because it will allow them to complete many different engaging, hands on, puzzle solving activities. I attended a professional development workshop this week where I learned about breakout edu. This company has created many escape the room type games linked to many different academic standards. Each game comes with puzzles that students need to solve in order to open the many locks. Each puzzle is linked to a different lock and the information needed to solve the puzzle can be found around the room. The game works better with smaller groups which is why I'm asking for supplies to make four of the breakout boxes. In order to complete breakout edu challenges we need all of the materials to make the breakout box. Students will need to solve puzzles around the room and find codes to open several different locks that will lead them to the final clue and resolution inside of the breakout box. In order to complete these challenges we need many locks, lock boxes, uv lights, and a hasp. Check out the breakout box lessons on breakoutedu.com anyone who has played an escape the room game knows how much fun it is. I feel that these lessons would provide fun engaging lessons that my students would gain not only content knowledge from but also the ability to problem solve and how to successfully work in teams.
