I chose six books that would be used for students in literacy circles. Students would do novel studies on each of these books that differentiate specifically to their academic needs, as well as interest! For example, the book Wonder teaches forgiveness and kindness and also teaches perspective and point of view since it has multiple characters telling the same story. I chose many nonfiction and fiction books relating to the area of social studies and the history of the United States because many students become bored with this subject, but it is vital information since we all ARE American people. We also learn from our history how important making good decisions are because it can affect MILLIONS of people! I plan to have students read the different resources and even act them out! Students can be engaged in historical resources too!
