These hands-on laboratory activities, Carolina Synthetic Blood: DNA Models and Plant and Animal Cell Models make it real to my students. Manipulating each model and activity will be an engaging, wonderful learning opportunities for my Biology students. They will help my students next year in two areas where past students always struggle. Unfortunately, it's tough to visualize the tough concepts involved in genetics. By letting them actually experiment and work with these hands-on activities, my students will be able to more easily wrap their mind around the concepts of cells, cycles and genetics. I'm excited to be able to focus the learning on nucleic acids and how they change so much of how organisms function. Understanding DNA and genetics is becoming more and more critical in today's society. Besides that, the DNA modeling kit and cell models are reusable, which means several generations of students can benefit from this investment.
