  • Learning Through a Multisensory Learning Experience

    Funded May 7, 2021

Our new resources have allowed my students to learn through a multi sensory approach. When doing a unit on animals, for example, the students created adorable sun catchers with all the materials readily available at their finger tips. The supplies were preprepared and the directions were easy to follow. This brought the learning alive in a hands on way and allowed for creativity.

The students were excited when they had a chance to use materials that tapped into their need for sensory input. For example, the foam molding texture felt soothing and helped students to use it as a means to refocus or become more calm when they felt frustrated.

For my next project, I'd like to continue to provide students with an opportunity to make learning fun through hands on experiences. By having the proper materials available, I will be enabled to make this dream a reality!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Max

Thank you for helping me reach my goal to bring the resources necessary into my classroom to help me bring the learning alive in my classroom. By making learning fun the students will learn without even realizing it because they will be having a good time and will enjoy learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Max

My second grade student body is a diverse ethnic population ranging in abilities and learning styles. The students are performing from significantly below grade level expectation to well above the expectations. My classroom is arranged with desks grouped in clusters to allow for group work. In addition, there are two teaching stations/meeting areas to allow for parallel teaching in an ict setting.
