My students have been working so well despite all the challenges of distance learning, but I would like to open up more opportunities to allow distance learning to be more interactive, even through a screen. These supplies will allow students to participate in interactive labs at home, and help me be more successful as a teacher once students return to the classroom too. Students will be able to demonstrate their scientific knowledge through various hands-on activities that let them interact directly with the material. I am hopeful that students will have a better understanding of the material once they are able to participate at home like they would normally have done at school, with hands-on labs, tech, and projects. The supplies, including seeds, rulers, highlighters, yeast, balloons, will help ensure equity during distance learning, so students have access to lab supplies despite having to stay at home for class. Some of these materials will also help me teach better from a distance, including the ergonomic cushions for the chair, keyboard, and mouse, and the wireless headphones that will allow me to teach through Zoom but still be mobile while teaching. The tripod will also let me connect my phone and use it as a document camera while teaching through Zoom.
