  • Little Learners!

    Funded Feb 15, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations. The students will be so excited to interact with the easel, while learning letters and numbers. The students will be able to learn left to right orientation through the use of a morning message. The laminator will also come in handy when making print outs of environmental print to use throughout the classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mullen

  • Comfortable Learning

    Funded May 21, 2019

I want to take this time to thank you so much for your generous donations. Through this alphabet carpet, my students will have adequate seating on the carpet. They will also be able to sit comfortably during our circle time activities. I intend to also use this carpet as a resource when teaching letter names and letter sounds. For instance, each morning before circle time, the children will each pick a laminated letter. The letter they choose, will be their designated letter square for the morning. This will reinforce letter recognition. The added benefit of letter sound identification will be reinforced through the picture located on each square which pertains to the corresponding letter. The students were so excited when I unrolled the carpet and showed them their new circle time area! Again, I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!”

  • Amazing Artists

    Funded Apr 4, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation! Words cannot express how wonderful you are for donating to our project. My students love to paint pictures. With this easel, they are able to create beautiful masterpieces. They ask everyday if they can paint. They cannot wait to paint something and take it home to show their families. They also love mixing the colors and creating new colors. Therefore, they are learning while being creative. I wish you could have seen their faces when they saw the new easel put together! Thank you so much!”

  • Reading Super Stars!

    Funded Oct 12, 2018

Thank you so much for your extremely generous donation. With this donation, we were able to order Scholastic Weekly Readers. This is a bi-monthly publication that informs students of real life scientific and social studies concepts. The students are able to read about and see pictures related to our curriculum. This is a wonderful addition to our classroom. The students love the pictures. They also love hearing about the different concepts like apples, animals, firefighters, etc. They also live the big magazine share aloud and the follow up activities. Worst cannot express how grateful we are.”

  • Sandbox Science

    Funded Sep 18, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation of a sandbox and toys. The students were so excited when I took the sandbox out of the box. They couldn't wait to get to play in there. It looks so great and inviting. They will go in the sandbox and create cakes, sand castles, and sea creatures from the molds. They also love to bury items in to dig up, like they are digging for "lost treasure." One activity I like to do with them, is hide various items in there and have them dig them up. For instance, we are now learning about leaves and trees; so I will hide plastic leaves in there and have them dig them up. They can identify the colors of the leaves. I then change out the items based on the theme.”

  • Building Phonemic Awareness Skills in Young Learners

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for donating the following items to my classroom: Letter Recognition/Letter Sound Alphabet Tubs and Morning Circle Calendar Activity Set. These will be wonderful additions to the classroom. Through the use of these materials, the students will receive instruction in both letter names and letter sounds. These will be fun ways to get the students excited about learning new things! We are excited to use the calendar to begin our day in a new and fun way! Thank you again for your generosity!”

  • Let's Play!

    Funded Nov 14, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donations. The students were so excited when we opened the box and they saw the ice cream truck. They have so much fun pretending to buy and sell ice cream. They also love to ring the bell! While using their imaginations, they are also learning colors, how to count, halves and wholes, and cooperative play. They enjoy playing with friends while they are acquiring new skills. Our next goal is to work on phonetic awareness by using concrete objects to instill a deeper understanding of the letter-sound relationship.”

  • Listening Library for Little Scholars

    Funded Jul 10, 2017

Thank you so much for your generosity. The students love their new Listening Center. Not only is the listening potion perfect, but also the books are truly amazing. They were so excited to try out the new comfy seat, pick out a book, and then listen to the story on the headphones. They couldn't wait to take the books out of the plastic and put the CD in the CD player. It is so wonderful to see them enjoying books in a different way. My next project will be math based. I would like to enhance the Math Center to create avid math learners.”

  • Books Alive!

    Funded Jul 11, 2017

Thank you so much for your generosity! The puppet theater is a huge hit! The students were so excited to see not only the theater, but also the many wonderful puppets. The puppets fit into our many different curriculum themes. It is so great to see the students act out many classic stories. The students will race to the puppet theater to see the many characters on display. As I opened the box, the student's eyes were wide with excitement. For our next venture, we would live to add to our dramatic play area with costumes of different professions.”

  • Love of Literacy

    Funded Jun 12, 2017

Thank you so much for your generosity. We are so excited to have the beautiful additions to our classroom library. As soon as I opened the box, the students were amazed at the bright red and blue colors. They couldn't wait to sit in the comfy furniture. One student even said, "Wow, I can't wait to sit on the sofa and read a book!" The library center looks Great! It is colorful and comfortable. It is inviting and the students love to sit and read stories. One of my next endeavors is to build up the math center.”

Some of the students in my class are not read to at home on a consistent basis. Therefore, they are not exposed to as many vocabulary words as their higher income counterparts. I want the students to be exposed to high quality literature in a comfortable and inviting center. I want the students to be interested in going to the library center and enjoy being there. I want students to be exposed to new and challenging vocabulary words. If you can donate to this project, you will be able to close the 3,000 word gap and give these students a chance to experience quality literature on a consistent basis. They will be able to sit in a comfortable setting and share stories with peers and read individually with a teacher. They will hear word fluency and learn comprehension skills. Lastly, they will develop a lifelong passion to read and explore new worlds through literature.
