My students have been learning these past 3 years the value of healthy expression and socio-emotional learning, the importance of understanding their emotions and healthily coping. In our Health & Wellness classes we learn about our tendency to hold stress in the body and the importance of utilizing healthy resources when faced with adversity. I believe that journaling is a good way to do this. I hope to encourage students to express themselves through writing down their feelings as well as remembering their dreams, especially during the summer months, to help them to become more self-aware and in turn empowered.
