  • Nonfiction Fun!

    Funded Feb 13, 2025

Thank you very much for your generous donation of non-fiction readers for the beginning readers in our school. The teachers and students are very excited to see these books added to our school book room. Students will be able to read these books at school and take them home to show their families how their reading skills have improved.

These non-fiction decodable readers have a wonderful scope and sequence that will allow teachers to easily pair books with the students they are working with.

Again, I cannot thank you enough for your donation. These books will be put to good use. Thank you!”

  • Wobble Into A Good Book

    Funded Dec 2, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation of early decodable readers for the students at our school. These books will be put in our school book room and all students will have access to these decodable books. As a school we are trying to fill our book room with more books aligned with the science of reading and these decodable books fit the bill.

The students were very excited to get these books. Some of the struggling readers are very proud that they can read these simple decodable books. We have times each month where students read with kids from other grades. The younger students have been very proud to show off their skills to the older readers. It is great for everyone to have books they can truly read for these partner activities.

Thanks again for your donation. We are lucky to have such wonderful people like you who care about the future of our young students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Claerbaut

  • The Magic of Reading

    Funded Jan 12, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation of books to our school. The students were very excited to get these new books. The dove right in and began reading with partners and brought them home to read to their families.

These books helped the students practice the skills they are learning in reading class. The decodable readers offered high interest books, yet offered a reading level that was appropriate for the students.

I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and willingness to help supply our school with books!”

  • Reading Stars

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

It is always so exciting when a big box arrives in the classroom. The students were very excited to open the box and see all the new books they would be able to read this year. Honestly, I don't know who was more excited, the students or the teachers.

The books have been sorted by skill level and placed in the school's book room. Now teachers from all grade levels have access to these wonderful decodable books.

One of the school goals the past two years has been to increase the amount of decodable books that students have access to. Your donation of these wonderful books have helped tremendously. Thank you for your donation.”

  • Reading Mascots

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

The 5K-second grade students were very excited to get their reading mascots. Mabel, Rasheed and Gus have joined the students for many reading lessons teaching the students beginning phonological awareness skills. Students also enjoy reading to these new friends.

The students were very excited to see that these characters did not just exist on paper, but the mascots could be held while they read.

The mascots have also provided comfort to those who are more afraid to read with a classmate. The mascots just listen. Students with sensory issues have also enjoyed the soft feel of them and the children can often be seen petting the mascots as they read.

Thank you again for your generous donation!”

  • Becoming a Reader

    Funded Nov 22, 2022

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more. The books from this project will help my students grow stronger in reading because these books will help my struggling readers gain confidence reading books at their level.

With these new books, my students are able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own level.

My beginning readers were so excited when the books arrived. They could not wait to begin reading these colorful decodable books. They are excited to bring them home and show off their reading skills with their families.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Claerbaut

My students are not only word detectives, but they are also learning to use clues in reading to help them solve mysteries. The students will enjoy reading about Hamster Holmes, Cam Jansen, and Nate the Great. The mystery of going to a new land will be uncovered in The Long Way Westward and The Long Way to a New Land. What are Mercy Watson and Mac and Cheese up to? Only my students will find out when they read these new books! The students will be able to participate in the units of study their classmates are doing with texts at their reading level. By donating to this project, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
