BOOKS NEEDED!
Funded Mar 2, 2020Words cannot express my gratitude for your generosity and willingness to give to this worthy cause. My students will so appreciate the books that your donations will provide. These books will help to foster the love for reading that I want to impart to my students. Thank you once again!”

Funded Oct 23, 2017When the new reading resources arrived, my students were in awe with the number of audio books, and phonics manipulatives that we received. No longer did they have to use the few, and incomplete vocabulary and phonic resources, nor did they have to listen to the same audio books. With your help, our classroom has been transformed into a literacy wonderland.
My students look forward to participating in the listening and the working with words centers. The added resources have kept them engaged, and have made our small group rotations more productive and effective. I am forever grateful that you sponsored this project, as your contributions will forever impact the lives of these needy, but deserving students.”

"Chromebooks Connect"
Funded Jul 12, 2017To say that I will forever be grateful that you helped to fund this much needed project is an understatement. At the end of last school year, I was feeling a bit hopeless. All four of my student computers were no longer working. I was feeling dejected when I was told that replacements were not a possibility in the foreseeable future! I was desperate enough to reach out to Donors Choose for assistance. I am so glad I did, as this my first project was funded fairly quickly.
My students love the Chromebooks, as they are able to use them during our centers time to complete their lessons in the District mandated computer intervention program. Additionally, they have helped to keep my students engaged, while I work with students in small groups. My students also love that the laptops are portable, and that they are able to take them to their desks, or sit with them in a seat of their choice.
Your act of kindness and generosity has impacted the lives of my students in such a way that is immeasurable. Having access to computers is a necessity, and too often disadvantaged students like the ones I teach don't have this benefit. Thank you so much for making what seemed impossible, a reality.”

Funded Jul 25, 2017The alternative seats are a hit! My students especially love the wobble chairs, and one student said that they "get my brain popping!" The stools and soft seats are also a welcome addition. As the demand to sit in these seats are great and the supply is low, I raffle them off at the end of the week. Students who have earned a certain number of points, get to participate in the raffle. The wobble chairs are the first to go! Students use the seats to sit at their desks, and to sit at the listening, reading or computer centers. I smiled one day when I saw a student doing her work, while laying on the floor, with one of the soft seats in her arms.
I would say that the flexible seats have helped so much with classroom management, as students want to earn points so that they can have the chance to sit in one of the seats. They have also made my students feel welcomed and comfortable, and this has helped them to become more productive.
Thank you for your willingness to give to this project, and for making my classroom an environment that is conducive for learning.”

Funded Jul 19, 2017The beginning of this school year has been so rewarding for me as a teacher, and it has simply been exciting for my students. They enter my classroom beaming, and have expressed that they love coming to my class because they enjoy using the new resources that you helped to fund. I have noted that they are more engaged during our centers time, and that there are less disruptions than there were last year. The addition of our listening center has made our rotations more organized. My English Language Learner students especially love listening to the stories being read aloud, as many of them do not get this experience outside of the classroom. The audio books help to expose them to unfamiliar words, which helps to build their limited vocabulary.
I cannot in words adequately express how grateful I am for your generosity, and all that I can say is thank you. My students have benefited tremendously from your act of kindness.”
