With this book, our entire 5th grade class will have an opportunity to complete a novel study and encourage class discussions about the significance of Human Rights, the Mexican Revolution, World War II and how these topics impact their lives today. The novel study will be the core of our way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month through arts and crafts, food tasting, readers' theatre and the arts across every content area. We will also be able to share our learning with our community too. With this book, our students can capitalize on their learning both academically and culturally -- all while having fun!
