Technology Boost!
Funded Jun 10, 2019Thank you so much for making a difference in the lives of my students and classroom environment. Having these iPads will allow us to access apps for our classroom robotics and ensure that every student has a device to use during Technology time. While we are very lucky to have chromebooks, they just don't allow us to use all of our robotics to their full extent and sometimes they don't work. My students will use these iPads to work in teams and build deeper understanding of Technology, Engineering and Science. It is because of your generosity that education will continue to thrive.”

Funded Mar 26, 2019You should have seen the look on my students faces when I was opening the boxes of our new classroom tools! The love and support I get on Donors Choose brings so much happiness to my heart and my classroom. We have been looking forward to having our very own Lego sets in our classroom! These Legos will help us with Math and Engineering/ Design. The Lazer Maze games will challenge us and push us further in making sense of things in our world. The K'Nex will offer a fun, independent activity to our center time, which is what we look forward to most of all! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Room 31 will continue to shine bright, thanks to you!”

Rockin' Technology in Room 31
Funded Feb 28, 2019Thank you so much for your generous contribution to Room 31's Reyes' Researchers! We have been so much more motivated when we are writing because being able to go down to the rug makes us feel more relaxed and free to write. The headphones have really contributed to our technology time and now we can all participate at the same time. They work so well and we can hardly wait to test out the microphone feature they have! Last, but certainly not least, is the microphone headset. It has now been incorporated in most of our subjects. We used it to present our African American Research Projects, we have used it in ELD journal sharing and also, in teaching our Math application problems to our peers. We are so lucky to have people like you supporting our future! We will continue to make you proud!

Funded Dec 14, 2017Thank you again for all of your support! My students have loved using Ozobots for coding. They were able to create mazes and challenge themselves when things didn't go quite as planned. One of the most rewarding things as a teacher is to watch your students push through new experiences without reservation or fear of being wrong. I want to teach that even though we make mistakes or don't get things right on the first try, we can use our mistakes to try it again in another way. We will continue to use Ozobots to enhance coding and technology in our classroom. Without your generosity, this would not be possible.”

Funded Jun 8, 2017The completion of this project has impacted not only my students, but myself and the way my classroom functions. Most of my students do not have access to laptops or the internet at home. These Chromebooks give them the opportunity to work on typing skills, use various learning websites, prepare for our 3rd grade online testing and setting up emails to use Google classroom as a means of communication, as well as submitting work. All of these things would have been impossible without your help. Previously we only had access to the computer lab once a week and had 4 computers in our room. Now with the 6 extra Chromebooks, I can have 10 out of 24 students working online and challenging themselves with technology use. My students light up when they get to use computers and day by day they become more comfortable navigating these Chromebooks. Thank you for your support and believing in my project. We are one lucky classroom and are doing amazing things that will benefit our future. These children are our future and now they have these Chromebooks to push them a little further in our ever changing technologically driven world. From the bottoms of Room 34's hearts, thank you!”

Build, Learn, & Create in Our Room!
Funded Aug 17, 2017Thank you so much for supporting my project. My students are so lucky to have your support. These materials have impacted our classroom tremendously. Science is supposed to be fun and engaging, without these materials we would not be learning so closely. The different forms of magnets have sparked so many questions in my students, they have allowed them to manipulate and explore first hand. They have been working really hard at building and creating models by looking at pictures or following step by step directions. They are able to work through the problems they run into and think through their construction. When we have "working centers", they love having a hands on activity in the mix, it gives them something to look forward to. These resources make learning fun. Your support means the world to us and I thank you again for believing in Room 34.”
