  • Writing Tools for Social Distance Learning

    Funded May 5, 2020

We are so grateful for your donations. With our new resources every child has received their own primary composition notebook, which is used daily. These notebooks are very sturdy and will without a doubt stay together for the remainder of the year. The markers and crayons have helped us bring our illustrations to life. The Expo markers have been very helpful with us practicing our phonics. I could go on and on in describing how all the writing tools you funded have made our learning so much easier. Thank you for believing in our project. We are so incredibly thankful.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lucas

  • Help Us Get A Jump On Our Day By Exercising

    Funded Jul 8, 2019

Thank you for your support. With the new P.E. equipment the children have enjoyed exercising. They look forward to running relay races with the batons and running races that have various obstacles. All of the equipment keep us excited to exercise. Also, the variety in equipment allow us to invent new games and methods to use to promote exercise. We are excited to continue to use our equipment this year and promote healthy habits.

We are so thankful for your support. Thank you for investing in us.”

  • Reaching Learning Modalities Through the Support of 3D Rendering

    Funded Jul 8, 2019

Thank you for your donation. The new Surface is fantastic! Our first project involved using photoshop and adobe skills to create a pencil sketch drawing of the children which we then printed out and colored using watercolors. The artwork came out so beautiful. The students and their parents really loved it. We have also used the Surface to help us with basic coding skills. The children have been coding using an existing kid friendly coding website and they really enjoy it.

Thank you for your support. We are so appreciative of the Surface.”

  • Counting Our Way to Gender Neutrality

    Funded Jul 4, 2019

Thank you for your donation. With our new collections the students have been able to develop strategies to help them with math. As they are counting they are developing more efficient ways to group their collections in ways that makes the most sense to them. Since we have a variety of collections to choose from, the children don't seem to get tired of counting! In addition to being excited about counting, the children are taking such good care of the collections we received by making sure all the different pieces get collected and put away properly for future use.

We are so grateful for you support. This donation will reap many many rewards!!”

  • 3 Important Pieces of Technology

    Funded Apr 4, 2019

Thank you for your generous support. The new document camera, projector, and Bose speaker have already been put to great use in our classroom. Teaching without these essential tools can often be challenging, especially when I am modeling specific activities for the children.

These new materials came at the most perfect time. Within days of receiving our new equipment we had to relocate from our classroom to the school library for 2 days. Having these essential tools readily available and portable made that transition a million times smoother.”

  • Fun Books About the American Revolution Kids Actually Will Read

    Funded Nov 5, 2017

Thank You for supporting us in buying history books that kids were actually excited about and self-motivated to read. The students and I really learned a lot of valuable information regarding the American Revolution. Through the use the books the students were able to write outstanding reports and participate in a play about the American Revolution. For the reports, students chose an American Revolution subtopic and wrote a grade level research report. Thanks to the books you so generously provided for us the students were able to learn how to cite evidence and include graphs and pictures with captions within their own writing. For the American Revolution play the students tried out for parts and were able dress and play the part of their character in a huge American Revolution event. Our American Revolution was a HUGE success!!! Thank you for believing in our project and funding it for us.”

  • Reading Books Please

    Funded Oct 18, 2017

Thank you for funding our reading project. Thanks to your generous support my classroom has plenty of wonderful and popular titles that the students look forward to reading. Literally, with the addition of the great books you provided us ALL of my students are actually reading during in class reading time. They even borrow books to take home to read and return. It gives me great joy to see the excitement the students have during reading time. Even, my once reluctant readers are seen with a book in hand and reading. Thank you, thank you for believing in our project and helping make our future better.”

  • Read A Book, Expand Your Mind, Change Your Life

    Funded Aug 30, 2017

Thank you for funding our project. The students have enjoyed reading the books you purchased for us. In our classroom, students are allowed to check out classroom books as they would a book in a library. Since the books have been delivered to us, the books are always checked out! They have not made it back to the shelf since the first day. We even have students who are on a wait list to be the next to read specific titles.

Independent reading time is a point in the day that the students look forward to each day. During this time students intensely read and maintain their focus. Your generous donation has made this possible. You have provided us with books that the kids actually want to read and books that are accessible since they are part of classroom library.

We received our books in September, since then literally every student has improved one reading level if not more. Not only has their reading level increased but so has their reading fluency and vocabulary. We are so grateful for your donation. Thank you for believing in our project and supporting us. I promise you, your donation has made a world of a difference for my students and me. Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lucas

I have the pleasure of looping with my students into 5th grade. This past year, I have worked very hard to assess student reading levels and to provide leveled books to all the students in order to continue to promote growth. All of my students have shown growth in reading and are reading close to grade level or at grade level. Some are even reading at a 6th grade level! I help the students track their growth and set reading goals. This holds them accountable to themselves and motivates them to continue reading. They look forward to our 40 minutes of daily reading time. During this time, they are given free choice in reading as long as they choose a book that is at their independent reading level. In order to continue promoting this love for reading, I need to include new books into my classroom library for the students to read and bins to use for storage. Please help us buy purchasing books for my students to read.
