These materials will allow my students to fully express their creativity. In my environmental science classes, the students become informed citizens about current environmental issues. I want them to be able to share their ideas with each other and the rest of the school. With limited budget for art supplies, these materials would be crucial to the students' ability to create and display their work. The sticky-note easel pads would allow my students to display their creations throughout the room and the school. My students work best when they are actively creating something with their own hands. All of these materials would allow them to do that. These classroom materials will help my make my classroom colorful, collaborative, and creative. I want all of my students to use inquiry and problem solving to learn about the environment. With these supplies, my students will be able to work through challenging problems together and come up with explanations. They will be able to use all parts of their brain, allowing me to differentiate on a more individualized level. The dry erase markers and boards will allow each student to quickly change their work as their thought process changes. One of the many projects that I envision with these materials is to have the students create a life-size art work of how they could be better stewards of the Earth. We will spend quite a bit of time throughout the year studying how humans harm the Earth, but I also want to spend a large amount of time talking about what we can do to improve and live more sustainable lives.
