It is my goal to offer flexible seating in my classroom. One option I would like to offer my students is the use of a Wobble Chair. Wobble chairs allow students to move by rocking or swaying while they work, which aides the Central Nervous System in calming students and improving concentration. My hope is that by offering a wobble chair, students will stay actively engaged in their learning by being able to move and balance while learning, in a non-distracting and subtle way. Wobble chairs also cause the student to balance on the chair, which improves and develops their posture. Sitting upright on a wobble chair also strengthens core muscles.
