Sensory Break Boxes

What a wonderful surprise! My students are going to be so happy to use these sensory boxes. Christmas is a hard time of year for the majority of my students. They are always thrilled to be back in school after a long break. Our classroom is our second home where everyone feels safe, loved, and accepted.”

Classroom sensory areas are especially important for my students with attention or sensory-related disorders. It has given them place to get away from the rest of the class and calm themselves. It also helps them during mini lessons. The chairs give them a space of their own when they come to the carpet. As a child sinks into the chair, it molds itself around their body, providing a great deal of calming proprioceptive sensory stimulation. Cradled in the bean bag chair, my students are able to focus better during quiet activities such as reading, listening, mini lesson,s or sensory breaks with headphones and squeeze toys.
