Changing This Tech Game...One Virtual Class at a Time!

My DES students were EXTREMELY excited to have their 'own' Galaxy Tablets. They learned to navigate different web-sites tailored to their academic needs and work at their own pace. I was able to assign lessons and activities that targeted their individual learning goals. Most of my students were afraid to use technology until they realized how fun learning can be using their Galaxy Tablets. The Bumper Cases really gave me a sense of calm when I allow my students to move about the classroom to find a comfortable spot to work in. All of my students increased their Reading skills in Phonics at 50% or more of their objective and most of them increased their Mathematical skills in Number Sense and Place Value. Having the use of their own Galaxy Tablets, my students have also shown improvement in their ability to focus on a task and complete more assignments. Another proud moment for my students is when they got the opportunity to decorate their Bumper Cases. They were allowed to use stickers, water-based glue, and colorful yarn to add their own style to their Galaxy Tablet Bumper Cases. The experiences that my DES students are having using the Galaxy Tablets is amazing! They have adapted to working in small groups as well as on their own. They have overcome struggles with social skills and are sharing their work with each other. My students and I are so very thankful and grateful to have such generous and committed sponsors to help make learning more meaningful and fun. Again, we say THANK YOU!!!!”
