Next Generation Builders
Funded Jan 18, 2024I can't even describe how excited my students were to receive all of the amazing stem building activities! Every day they would come in and look on the counter and see something new had come in the mail. It was so fun to let them help me unpack, and put things into the brand new bins.
Our inside recess has been changed, for the better! The marble race has turned into one of the most popular items at recess. I love to watch how my students engage and work together to build different racetracks. The magnetic tiles are also very popular! My students love creating homes and different buildings with them. They really enjoy the magnetic people that came along with the sets.
We can never thank you enough for your kindness and generosity! Kids are now celebrating when it's inside recess because of your amazing donations!”

Everything is Better in Color!
Funded Aug 15, 2023I can't thank you enough for the gift of our color, printer, and copier. We have been able to print off worksheets, student work, and anchor charts with it. The quality has been excellent, and the students have benefited greatly.
It has also been very valuable when we are doing art activities. Sometimes we only have three options to choose from and students are often sad if the option they wanted to use is already gone. But now that I have a copier in my classroom, I can just make an another copy for them so that they get to color the picture they really wanted to!
We appreciate your kindness in making our classroom more functional and colorful!! Thank you so much!”

Funded Aug 6, 2022We cannot thank you enough for the gift of headphones you so graciously provided for us! Rest assured that they are used multiple times a day, every single day we are in school!
Every morning my students use a math program called, Reflex. This program is designed to help students memorize their math facts. It is a game centered program that allows them to choose different games as they become more solid on specific fact families in multiplication and division. I often hear students say, "I know 9x9 is 81 because I practiced it on Reflex!"
We also use them in our daily literacy centers. I have recorded my voice to explain their work to them. It has been so helpful during their I-Ready program as well!
As a teacher, it has been so helpful to have quality headphones in my room. For the past 5 years I have dealt with students having them not work on one side, snap in half, and even break off in their chrome books. Not this year, thanks to you! I'll forever be thankful!!”

Funded Jan 19, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students absolutely love the iPad. We have used it during math instruction in particular, and they all want their work shown to the class! It has led to amazing discussions on student work and helped everyone to see how to solve math problems in different ways. It makes sharing work to the entire class effortless. We have also used it in small reading groups to read word lists from. Thank you for your support of learning in our 3rd grade class!”

Funded Oct 24, 2018I cannot thank you enough for the gift of new chrome books for my classroom! My students are loving being able to do some of their day's learning on these wonderful chrome books! Due to your generous donation, I now am able to have a 1:1 ratio of chrome books so that my students can all be doing an educational activity at one time. We often do things like Quizlet Live (a review game), Kahoot (a review game), NearPod (a educational site where you can teach a lesson with students responding to your questions in real time, Spelling City, and so much more!
One of the most common things we use our chrome books for is Google Classroom. In Google Classroom, I post assignments for my students to do. They might be informative/opinion essays, links to quizzes on Google Forms, or I might share websites with links that I need the students to go to. By having this technology, it has allowed my students to also do digital breakouts (solve puzzles) to help with their team work and growth mindset.
ALL of my students absolutely adore the new HP chrome books. They are faster and more powerful than some of our old chrome books. They are very excited when they get to use them because they know that it will be reliable and quick. I will be forever grateful for your generosity toward my amazing students!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Chevron Fuel Your School.Encouraging Lifelong Readers
Funded Oct 30, 2017I cannot thank you enough for the generous gifts you gave to my classroom! As a new teacher, I was really worried about not having enough engaging books for my students to read. At the beginning of the school year, there was a small selection of outdated books. Thanks to your donation, my classroom library grew and the students are now very excited for silent reading time!
The books that I chose for my classroom have helped me teach my students that there are many different genres of text to enjoy. Before your donation, many of my books were longer novels without any pictures. In fourth grade, there are still struggling readers that are overwhelmed by these books. I was able to excite some of my lower readers with the graphic novels that were sent. These books have helped them to gain confidence in their reading because they are motivated to finish the books. They are easier for them to read with the pictures. Also, I received a lot of books that have historical information that is presented in a fun, exciting narrative format. Many of my stronger readers have enjoyed learning about history through these engaging books.
My class has definitely benefited from these amazing books. I have multiple students who are waiting in line to read one of the new books! They are simply in love with them! This has allowed me to be able to successfully have guided reading instruction with small groups, while the rest of the class is reading silently. Thank you again for supporting my students and my quest to make lifelong readers!”
