Breaking away from the book but still reaching all students and hitting the standards? This is extremely hard to do (especially in math). I try to find fun games that students can play to practice a concept. There are many math games that involve dice. Let's be honest, students love manipulatives and any time you give them something other than a pencil. I am asking for 3 boxes of DICE and 15 copies of Mancala. Mancala is a game we play to prep for Math Field Day. I would also let students play in class when they have finished all of their work and we are both satisfied with their level of mastery.
