Because I have two classes, the students that are not in my homeroom do not have an effective way to store their daily materials. The classroom does not have enough storage for all the students to keep their materials close to their desks, so they are currently keeping their materials in a shelf on the back wall. We have many different times of transition, and the students spend too much time getting their materials. Each transition takes approximately 3 minutes and we transition 12 times a day. That is 36 minutes of instruction that is missed because students need to locate their materials. These carts will be stationed at each table, giving each student an organized and close place to keep their math notebooks, folders, and workbooks. My hope is that we will minimize transition time and keep our materials organized!
