Let's Learn Together
Funded Sep 24, 2024The students were excited to come into the classroom and see the new table. One student said Ms. Arlene "it's beautiful" and another said "let's draw" as he reached for a piece of paper and markers and sat down at the table.
The table will help us work in groups of four, two, and individually in daily instruction. Students will have the opportunity to talk, share their ideas, share lesson materials, work on math and literacy skills, and different projects.
Thank you again to all the families who made this project a reality.”

My Own Space
Funded Dec 30, 2023Thanks to all the people who made this project possible. The students were delighted with their new carpet and space. The calming colors help them focus better on daily instruction. In the morning meeting it helps them to do Turn and Talk with their partner more easily and at the same time helps them stay focused in a large group setting. During the day, students use it to play letter Bingo, numeral Bingo, read stories, assemble puzzles, work with a geoboard, make their plans for the block area, among other activities.
Thank you again for making this project a reality.”

Comfy Space
Funded Sep 23, 2021There are no words to say thank you very much for funding the "Comfy Space" project. The students were excited to receive the two new rugs. They helped unpack them, roll them, and put them in place. The rugs have provided a comfortable space for the morning meeting, receiving guests, working on writing, reading, creating block structures with classmates, among other things. Thanks to your donation, the students do not stop touching the textures of the rugs and enjoy every moment they work on them.”

Funded Jul 21, 2019Thank you so much for contribution to my project NEW Artists of 21st Century. This easel have made such a difference in my classroom because have give them the opportunity to work four children at the same time. Students are having the ability to express their own feelings, builds self esteem and relieve stress by using different arts materials.
Having this easel is helping them to develop muscle control, sensory experience and verbal language something very important at this age. Also, my preschoolers are learning about varios color mixtures, textures and how they go together.
When the students finish their painting they feels pride and accomplishment.
Thank you again for your generosity.”

"Clean Up Is Fun"
Funded Jun 29, 2019My students were excited when they saw large boxes entering the classroom. They wondered what was inside them and when they opened they asked where we could put the shelves and baskets. We immediately began to teach the importance of keeping their school environment organized.
In only two weeks of school the labeled shelves and baskets have helped children to easily pick up and value the surrounding environment. Students are learning that all materials have a place of belonging where they must be stored quickly and neatly.
As well, the sand table is being an important part in the classroom as it is helping them practice eye-hand coordination and use fine motor skills when digging, sifting, and pouring the sand. Also, it's allowing them to practice cooperative play and the exchange of materials.
Having the opportunity to dig in sand is helping them reduce the level of energy and providing them with an acceptable way to vent the frustration and anxiety.
It will be a year full of fun and learning.”

Ms. Alcazar
