Science "Labtops"

Funded Aug 1, 2017

I wanted to extend my deepest gratitude for donating to my project. I can never truly express how thankful and appreciative I am for your exceedingly kind generosity. With your donation I know that I will be able to take my classroom to the next level by providing my scholars with interactive, challenging, and engaging activities that will make science come to life.

While technology is used in our every day lives, I think we always forget how much of an impact it has in our classroom. Having the gift of ten Chromebooks in my classroom truly opens the door for all of our scholars. There is now an entire plethora of ways technology can be integrated into my lessons in order to meet the varied needs of each of the learners in my classroom. To name a few examples, students may now follow along with my PowerPoint to help them take notes. This will allow for an opportunity to circulate the classroom and assist students who may need more guidance and assistance. Additionally, I am excited for the opportunity to assist struggling scholars with certain topics and utilize block periods in the schedule. In addition, when scholars are struggling with a certain topic I will be able to construct virtual labs to help enhance their learning during block periods in the schedule. Most importantly, my students have the opportunity to learn how to type lab reports which will assist with their basic typing skills, as well as learning a format they will utilize in high school, college, and beyond.

It is no secret that instruction needs to be differentiated and made so that each scholar has the greatest opportunity for success. The introduction of these Chromebooks into my classroom will truly assist visual and auditory learners who benefit from more interactive and engaging lessons in order to master concepts or material. I also strongly believe that our scholars need to have more exposure to technology in order to be adequately be prepared for their future academic careers and the world around us. These computers will enable the students with some of the basic yet crucial technological skills needed in a technologically advanced world, both academic and beyond. I am excited to see what the future holds for my scholars with this technological integration into my classroom.”

With gratitude,

Ms. Cunningham
