All students can learn and it is important for them to feel comfortable and focused while learning. My fourth graders are an active and driven group. Many do not like to sit in traditional desks and chairs. Flexible seating is a great way to give students a choice as to where they want to sit and how they want to learn. This philosophy aligns with our PBL curriculum here at our school (Project Based Learning) We encourage all students to have a growth mindset and own their learning. Flexible seating is a great way to have voice and choice in our classroom! It is my goal as a teacher to accommodate all students and traditional seating is not what is best for all students. I am very excited about the possibility of offering this type of environment to my students. Having these flexible seating options is a way for my students to move around and work in an environment that works best for them.
