Measure Me
Funded May 9, 2024Thank you for your donations. The students have enjoyed using all of the materials that were bought with your donations. Anytime we get new materials they enjoy using them. All the books that were ordered was something they enjoyed especially those of the soccer players. They have seen those books multiple times.
The dry erase ouches have helped a lot in their journey to learning math. It also helps me in not having to laminate everything and be more wise in how I use them. As well the pencil sharpener it has been very useful. We have had a few of them in the class and I am hoping this one will last long enough.
I am happy that we have enough meter sticks as this helps us with our measurement unit. Most of the time I had been using only one and it was hard for the students to use it when they wanted to reference it.
O really these donations have gone a long way and have provided so much for my students. It is greatly appreciated.”

Funded Aug 21, 2024Thank you for the donations. We are very appreciative for the materials that were provided to enhance the comfort of our class. The students have definitely loved having our monkey Lu. The weighted monkey has helped them feel less stressed and get back to their work. The fidgets have also helped the students manage their emotions. They know that they can get them when they are needed. It has improved the classroom climate.
The students have enjoyed having new manipulatives for math. The little animals have helped them a lot in their counting collections. Most of the students came in with only knowing how to count up to 50. Now most of the students have a goal of counting up to 150. Things like this make a difference in the students lives.
As for the big joe bags, these have given the students an opportunity to feel comfy and get into their reading. They have enjoyed sitting there not only for reading but for math as well. Anytime they have the opportunity they enjoy sitting there. It has brought comfort to them and a place they enjoy having conversations with their peers.”

Funded Nov 3, 2024Thank you for your donations. My students and I will be utilizing a lot of these materials when they arrive. Snack time will be fun for them and my allergy kids will be happy to have something they can have without being worried about it. The magnets will help us keep our work organized on the whiteboard and the trays will help with their paper work. Finally, the fan will be useful even with winter approaching as the furnace makes things extremely hot in our classroom. I appreciate your donations every single day.”

Funded Mar 27, 2024The materials that were provided by your generous donations have made a great impact on my students. They have taken advantage of the markers that they were provided to create amazing works of art. They are always asking if they can use them for all of our coloring projects. Unfortunately, some of those projects require just crayons which makes them sad. The good thing is that they know that when they need them they know where to find them.
Thanks to your donations my previous classroom and this classroom have been able to enjoy the snacks that were provided. Being a late start school where we start at 9:10am and end at 4:10pm makes the days seem very long. Students tend to get hungry towards the last hour of school. Last year a lot of students couldn't bring a snack and this helped them out until they got home to eat. This year I have a few that want a snack and it has helped them get through the rest of the afternoon.
The TPT gift card has been very helpful in the sense of being able to buy interactive activities for my students that support our curriculum. At this age students love to do more hands on learning and these kids can definitely do that with these materials.
Finally the wiggle seats have been a great addition to our classroom and the kids have enjoyed it. They take their turns to use it through out the week. They have helped them concentrate and provided more seating for the students.
Thanks you again for your donations.”

Funded Nov 28, 2023Thank you for your donations. My students have enjoyed sitting in the filled bean bags. It has helped them feel comfortable and the bean bags have made it like a home for them. I know for a fact that the stuffing will last for a while, as the students have enjoyed sitting non it for the last two months, and the bean bags still look full.
The snacks have helped my students with their hunger. There are days when the food at school isn't very appetizing and a snack like this keeps them full for a while. The snacks have also been very beneficial after our field trips. They have enjoyed eating the fruit snacks and the cookies.
These little things have helped them feel more comfortable at school and made them feel like they matter and I'm very thankful for your support.”

Funded Oct 11, 2023Cleanliness amongst second graders is a hard concept for them to understand. They are still getting to know their bodies and the proper way to take care of them. As a result germs are everywhere. With the Lysol wipes they have improved the way they clean their areas and the areas around them. Unfortunately our floors don't get cleaned as often either. They use these wipes on anything they find dirty. This has helped them be more self aware.
We thank you for the books that we got. We love it when we get new texts, especially in Spanish. They have found many connections within the books that they received. My goal for them is that they keep seeing characters just like them in the stories that they read. This will help them love reading and help them become better readers for it.”

Funded Sep 6, 2023Thank you for your gift. As a teacher I try to make a comfortable environment for my students. They can now use the bigger carpet in our reading nook, and feel comfortable reading. They can use the reading squares to work anywhere in the room. They can use them to read with a partner and they can do activities on them.
Anytime we have a package I ask my students to guess what we might have received. Their guesses are always so entertaining as they either guess something huge or something small. When seeing their reactions I let them explore the new materials so they can learn how to use them. They have been very useful for our classroom. Now more than ever as unfortunately our floors do not get mopped that often.
We thank from the bottom of our hearts.”

Funded Aug 15, 2023These materials have made a great impact on my students. They have been able to use the Colors of the World to draw themselves in a way that I as a child couldn't. Their pictures have become more realistic. The extra coloring supplies have also helped my students not feel so left out because we have a community supply that was created by your generous donation.
They have enjoyed reading "We are a family." This was a create book to start the year with as it be helped the students become a better community.
The magnetic board has also supported their learning as they can utilize it in many ways. It has also helped me in small groups as I can work with them I. Their spelling words.
These donations have already been used so many times this year and we are only getting started.”

Funded Dec 28, 2022The love of science and math start at a young age. By providing these materials my students have been opened up to new possibilities. They have read, they have explored, and they have created.
The books of the incredible women who have had an impact on our society it has opened up the eyes of my students. Especially the girls in my classroom. They are excited to see the girls of color in positions that are still only male dominated. They ended up creating trophies for one of the women that they read about. The math books have become an engaging tool for centers. These books are helping students make real life connections with math.
Th best part was seeing my students faces when they got to see the manipulatives. The blocks became an exciting time for them as they got to build with them. The coding mats became a new way to challenge themselves and their peers. The math manipulatives for addition and subtraction have motivated the students to practice and challenge each other.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping my students engage in topics that were limited to them.”

Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you for helping my students get headphones. Most years, students bring in earbuds to help them listen to stories, videos, or directions on their computers. These usually last for a month because of the quality or students misplace them somewhere in the classroom and they are also hard to label them, so students forget which one is theirs.
This year I had a set of five functioning headphones for a class of 25, this didn't help too much during our intervention time. I would be listening to 15+ stories or directions while trying to help out small group. Another problem would be that I would always have certain kids wanting to use the headphones every day while others didn't get a chance. By having these headphones. The students had a one to one device and no sharing was necessary. This was great because I could then work with the small group and get a lot done with them.
This project also helped the students concentrate more on their work. Previously they would not be as engaged because they keep getting distracted by the sounds of other computers and things going on in the room. Not only this but when we have testing happening the students are more focused with the headphones. This project has truly had a magnificent outcome for our classroom. Thank you!”
