My aspiration is to make my room a place where each child can be successful. To achieve this I plan on giving students the option to choose a way that is most comfortable for them to learn. Do you like sitting in a hard chair at a desk all day long? Personally, I like to have the freedom to sit where I am comfortable when working. When I am lesson planning on the weekend I enjoy sitting on the couch. When I am grading papers, I like to sit at the table. Kids should have the same options in the classroom. Giving my students options on where they can sit or what they can sit on will give them the opportunity to focus for longer periods of time and feel comfortable in the classroom. I would like to use a variety of seating options in the classroom like the wiggle chairs and stability balls. I will be using the book bins as storage for the kids supplies because I will be getting rid of most of the traditional desks.
