Our classroom is uniquely located in a small town in the mountains of North Carolina. In our preK-8 school, my sixth graders have lots of opportunities to learn about science, ELA, and our larger community in hands-on ways.
Some of my students serve as mentors to 2nd grade in our Science PALS exploratory, which provides them with an amazing opportunity to work with younger students and build on their own learning. Field trips also help to make our science curriculum come alive. We also work together to build our understanding of the world around us through reading about different cultures, Skyping with guests from around the country, and doing service learning with our local Casting Bread Food Pantry.
We hope you'll consider giving to support the awesome learning that takes place in our classroom!
