Flexible seating will allow my students to take ownership of their learning and make decisions related to their learning that will suit them. When students are given time to work independently in class, they often move around them room to different places, some of them even choosing to stand at their desk or stretch out on the floor. Allowing them this choice in their learning is a great motivator for these particular students. Students are more engaged in their learning, and thus are more successful in completing their work. My students are more engaged and are less likely to engage in disruptive behavior when they are given a choice of where they would like to work.The products that I have selected will give my students more seating options to experiment with, and hopefully, to find the best fit for them. The standing desk allows my students who feel the need to stand after direct instruction an option that will allow them to complete their work neatly. The wobble stool and ball chair allow students to get their wiggles out while working, and can be moved easily to different spots. I have seen how allowing my students' choice in their learning affect their motivation and attitude towards their school work. I hope that with more options we will see this increase even more!
