The white boards and markers will allow the whole class to participate in practicing skills necessary for second grade, while saving paper waste. Students are able to find an option that will help them physically be in control of their body engagement and movement. For example, a student who are hyperactive may benefit from a bouncy band and a yoga ball which will allow their legs and body to move while staying focused. Students who also feel more comfortable sitting on the classroom rug can pick to use a lap tray or kneeling pad at a lowered table. Students who can feel comfortable and choose the best seating option will have a higher level of engagement, and thus will increase the amount of learning on a daily basis. Flexible seating is one way of many that will help differentiate a students learning environment.
