  • Game Time!

    Funded Aug 15, 2017

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for all of your support! GAME TIME was such a hit for my students. Having real life games to play in the classroom has given them so many opportunities to authentically practice social skills.

A big focus in my Social Emotional Learning Resource room this year is "whole body learning". All of the games and activities from GAME TIME have allowed students to practice using their whole bodies to engage in a task that didn't require academics. The best was teaching them the rules of Yahtzee for 1 day and then slowly letting them run the show on their own and correct each other to have their whole bodies engaged.

Thank you for helping make my room and fun and safe place for students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Tonoff

  • Cool Tools for Tonoff's Kids

    Funded Jul 19, 2017

Thank you SO SO much for your generous donations to my classroom. Your kindness has helped give my students fidgets, alternative seating, and art materials for classroom management, projects, and reward systems.

As the packages of new seating came in, my students were THRILLED to open the boxes. It was a game to guess which type of seats they were. Giving them the options of seating has helped even my squirmiest kids focus on lessons and activities. They work great as incentives for my higher functioning kids as well.

The fidgets used in the class have supported kids with anxiety and ADHD and given them a way to self-regulate during lessons.

Thank you again for reaching out to my classroom. My students and I are so lucky for your kindness!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Tonoff

Our students will use these tools to help replace unwanted behaviors in the classroom. My goals is for them to use these seating options and fidgets for sensory input so they can focus on their academic tasks. These tools will also be used to assist students with coping in new/uncomfortable situations. Their "homebase" classroom will be a safe place for them to come to during the day where they can use these tools to reset and prepare for the rest of their day. I want students to feel at home in this classroom and have tools available to them to help them be successful.
