  • Healthy & Happy In 3rd Grade

    Funded Jan 18, 2019

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your wonderful donations for our classroom! We think of your kindness every time we cure a sniffle with a Kleenex and sanitize our hands with the hand sanitizer! Our room smells brighter with the help of our new Clorox wipes and air fresheners!

My students are most excited about the wonderful recess toys that we can't wait to use once the weather breaks and it isn't a snowstorm here in snowy Buffalo, NY! Check out the photos- we used them in the hallway and were jumping for joy with excitement!

The world is a better place because of thoughtful people like you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Talarico

  • Reading Rules!

    Funded Dec 5, 2017

My class and I would like to say THANK YOU for being so wonderful and donating to our classroom. When I surprised them with a special delivery they could not contain their excitement! It is a surprise from you that made my whole class light up and smile.

We are using our reading activities during ELA centers. Center time is a time for students to work with their peers and guide one another in their learning. The center activities are an engaging way for students to learn while having fun at the same time.

Once again, thank you for your kind heart! Your act of kindness has touched the lives of 90 4th graders who are forever grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Talarico

Hello! I am a 3rd Grade ELA teacher for the Buffalo Public Schools at the wonderful West Hertel Academy Public School #94! I teach 90 students with a HUGE VARIETY of needs. Student academic levels range from students that just entered the country with absolutely no English language to students who are working at grade level or further!Almost 50% of my students are English Language Learners from all over the world. My classroom is a little melting pot and my students and I have the opportunity to learn so much about different cultures from one another. Free breakfast is supplied to every student and many students participate in a backpack program, bringing home food for the weekend. 100% of my students come from low income families and some are sent to school with no school supplies...but that won't stop my students from growing into successful, lifelong learners!
