This project fosters literacy skill development in a way that is culturally and linguistically relevant. My classroom is comprised of native Spanish speakers. Assisting students develop their sense of self through stories in their home language will allow their families to be engaged in their learning process. Each of the 10 students in my class will receive books to build their home libraries that will be integrated into teacher-guided activities through a virtual learning platform. Home libraries will provide opportunities for families to be fully involved in their child's education as they learn from home.
