Many of my students are working on catching up to their peers, they have gaps in their knowledge for a variety of reasons. Some of the resources that we use are on the computer and we use our keyboards to navigate. However, our keyboards are showing their age and they are missing random keys. We need to have cords that work and keys that type! For our students who are still learning English, having letters missing makes typing the correct responses much harder. Having keyboards that are old or broken means that the kids have to spend their learning time getting their technology set up, which is not how we want them to spend their time. Having fresh new keyboards will give my new students the ability to get right to work with fresh materials. It will give them a reason to be wise with their tools, taking care of our new resources. It will also mean that they can work without trying to figure out what the missing letters are. New keyboards are key to getting our students off to a great start this year.
