Healthy Body, Healthy Mind
Funded Apr 20, 2020Thank you for providing the funds to help me purchase the various equipment that I will be utilizing with the student athletes that I work with!
So far we have used the agility ladders to conduct footwork drills that help with improving each athlete's speed and agility. We have also utilized the speed and agility ladders as a way to provide variability with our conditioning at the end of our skill practices.
We've used the hurdles to help improve running mechanics, stride length, as well as improve mobility of each athlete.
The agility hoops provide my student athletes with a visual to help guide them through the different drills, and conditioning activities that we prescribe for them on that given day.
When my student athletes first saw the materials, they were extremely excited to get working, and improving upon their craft. They were very thankful and appreciative of everything, as was I!
The next step for my student athletes with this equipment is to continue using the equipment, and using each day as an opportunity to get better. We can't wait to provide you with pictures showing you how we are using everything!
Thank you!”

Mr. Campbell
Building a Resilient Classroom Through Social Emotional Awareness
Funded May 6, 2019Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to attend the professional development seminar focusing on Social Emotional Awareness. This professional development seminar has taught me various strategies to help provide my students with the most welcoming, and accepting environment within my classroom.
We live in an era where mental health is stigmatized. This class has taught me how to recognize when my students may be going through a difficult time or situation, and help them work with their emotions, or if need be, de-escalate a situation.
The workshop has also taught me how to be an effective teacher, and professional when it comes to dealing with my own emotions. Being aware of your feelings, as well as your students' feelings is an important component of becoming the most effective teacher possible.
I look forward to utilizing the strategies I have learned!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Morgridge Family Foundation and 3 other donors.Getting Fit for the Season
Funded Mar 7, 2019My student athletes, and myself want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the donations that you have provided to us. Because of the donations that you have provided, we have been able to improve our overall fitness levels, and health in addition to our skills on the baseball field. You have impacted the lives of young student athletes by helping them lead healthier lives.
When my student athletes first received the exercise equipment, the looks on their faces was priceless. They were so excited to get out and practice, and work out. One student athlete even mentioned how he felt this would help him throw harder, run faster, and hit the ball further. Little did they know, it was also helping them improve the quality of their life.
As far as next steps are concerned, I would love to continue to add to my collection of equipment, and help impact these student athletes even more, in addition to future generations of student athletes. We will continue to use the equipment everyday, and look forward to competing in the playoffs!
Once again, thank you so much!”

This classroom project was brought to life by DICK'S Sporting Goods Foundation - Sports Matter and 5 other donors.Special Things for Special Needs
Funded Sep 26, 2017On behalf of my students and the staff that I work with, I would like to thank you for all that you have given to our classroom.
My students have been using the seat cushions as well as the sensory shapes each day. It is very easy for my students to become overly stimulated within a school setting. The cushions, as well as the sensory shapes/tools allow my students a physical outlet to calm themselves down in an exciting and at times overly stimulating environment.
When we first opened the box, they were very excited to begin using the sensory items. They saw the nutrition center activities, and the science experiment materials and were unsure as to what I had in store for them. I explained to them what I planned on using all of the materials for, and they seemed very grateful, and excited to use everything.
I explained to them that these donations came from people that we do not even know! At times it is difficult for my students to connect emotionally and socially with people, however after explaining to them that these items were given by strangers who want to see them excel within the classroom and within everyday life each of their faces lit up with joy and excitement.
All of the items and tools provided will go towards making this school year a little bit more enjoyable for my students. These items will certainly provide a positive learning experience for my students. These donations have made the classroom I teach in better equipped for the population that I teach on a daily basis. I cannot thank you enough for everything that you have provided my students!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Campbell
