The computers will allow students to meet their technology standards while diversifying access to curriculum to study current events and culturally responsive pedagogy . They can be used in small groups, whole group, and as an alternative differentiation tools for reading instruction. With new Chromebook computers, our classroom will be open to research and evidence-based programs such as Newsela, iStation, and ClassCraft that are educational, differentiated, engaging, and fun! Not only will students gain invaluable experience from the programs, but early computing and typing skills will benefit the students as they pursue careers across all fields of study. Finally, by giving access to technology at school, students will have opportunities for learning that many don't have at home due to their various socioeconomic situations.
