Materials for Creativity
Funded Sep 2, 2022Thank you! Gracias! Спасибо!
Your generous donation has made a huge impact on my young learners. Kids are eager to show how their creations are not just one shade of green or red, but a variety of shades, just like the world. The kiddos are so much more engaged in making their illustrations come to life with this wide selection of crayons and watercolors. Their smiles, the excitement they feel and their focused faces when using these amazing supplies, is a true joy to witness. These kids truly deserve some "love." Your donation has allowed these kiddos to have better supplies, (64 crayon colors versus 24, 16 watercolor choices versus 8) which has truly made a difference in their outlook on their work. They are taking much more pride in what they create.
I am blown away by your generosity and please know, you have done a great thing for these kids. Thank you again.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Bill Gates and 5 other donors.Mathematical Creations
Funded Dec 1, 2021Thank you for your generous contribution. These kiddos have had a blast creating with these magnets. In our classroom, students have had opportunities to plan, create & revise their buildings during our math block. We focus on real world objects (the photos show their interpretation of a playground) and kids visualize which magnets to use, they build their structure then make any revisions to the structure to make it better.
These magnets have helped build these first graders math skills, problem solving skills, increased their creativity and have provided them with chances to work on their perseverance.
These math tools have been such a thrill for them! A lot of kiddos don't have any magnets at home, so using them in our classroom has been a highlight!”

Funded Nov 14, 2021I can't begin to express the amount of gratitude I have for you and your generosity. My class of first graders had glowing smiles, screams and giggles of joy and astonished looks as I revealed the art supplies that you donated to their little worlds; just out of the kindness of your heart.
They are thrilled each time we have the opportunity to express ourselves through art and use the materials you helped purchase. For example, we used the crayons, watercolors and cardstock for a reading, writing and art activity about "Giraffes Can't Dance." (It is a kids book with a message about 'being different is okay and we all find our own path in life'). The kids were through the roof excited as they discovered different shades of green crayons they could use to make the jungle, different shades of brown to use for Gerald the giraffe and the options of using warm colors or cool colors with the watercolors for the background. They were sharing the names of the colors with each other and were beaming with pride as they completed their masterpieces. This was just a simple activity, but the excitement, confidence and pride was made possible by your generous donation. These art materials have opened their worlds!
We are in the process of creating an art piece on ourselves and they will get to use these wonderful materials to show how they see themselves and what their identity is. Kids love that they can show how there is not just one green, one brown or one yellow in this world.
These kids deserve the world and I am forever grateful for your kindness in making sure they have better opportunities when it comes to their creativity.
Thank you, thank you!”

Better Life Science with Enclosures for Anols
Funded Nov 16, 2017Thank you for your very generous donation. Your contribution has made a big impact on this diverse learning community. My students were overcome with joy when they opened their "surprise." Your donation will allow these first graders to see first hand what they are learning in science. Our organism unit allows kids to hear/read how living things survive in their habitat, but with your donation, kids will now be able to see how it happens! This is what is a big impact for most of my students have never had such an opportunity.
This will make science 'come to life,' for my well deserving students. Thank you for your thoughtfulness!”

Larger Planter For Science In The Classroom
Funded Sep 30, 2017Thank you so much for your donation!
This planter has brought a huge sense of excitement into our classroom. We have finally had some nice (not freezing) weather and have been able to plant some beautiful flowers. Most of my students have never gardened before, so this new experience was FULL of teachable moments. From understanding that it is okay for gloves to get dirty to how to carefully take a plant out of a pot to how to shovel a hole in the soil. This planter has made the class full of pride as other kids from the school stop by to see what we have planted and ask them questions. My class has shown great responsibility in watering the flowers and taking turns with who gets to dig, plant or maintain the garden.
Thank you again for your kindness and generosity. You have helped create a number of new learning experiences for well deserving kids.”

Larger Planter For Science In The Classroom #2
Funded Oct 9, 2017Thank you for your donation. As of now our planter is constructed and placed outside of our classroom window. The students were in charge of laying out the soil, planting the Mums and watering them when needed.
It has become a sight seeing attraction at our school where all grade levels have stopped by to look at our first grade garden. Each one of my students was extremely excited to see how the planter would be constructed, how and where it would be placed and know that this is theirs!
In late winter the class will vote on what type of flowers and vegetables we plant. They will again be in charge of the planting and we will keep a journal on the process.
This has been a wonderful experience for a lot of my kids as they never planted before and didn't know how to use gardening gloves or tools.
Thank you for helping make this happen!”

Mrs. Andersen
First Graders Moving and Learning
Funded May 4, 2017These have been a great addition to my classroom. We are currently rotating them between the students and all of them have shown increased productivity while using these wobble chairs. I would love to have an entire classroom of these chairs. Being able to move while learning is great benefit for most kids.
I have started to concentrate on flexible seating in my class. I was looking for new ways to help students with their learning style. We have long left the time of sitting in rows and having the teacher do all the talking. Education should be learning in motion.
Thank you again for making these Wobble Chairs part of my classroom.”
